CalWest's partner school in the Bay Area seeks an experienced Computer Science Teacher to begin July 2025.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Education, or a related field
- Master's degree and experience working with secondary school students is preferred
- 1+ years of teaching computer science.
- Strong classroom management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for education and promoting computer science knowledge.
- Dedication to creating an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
- Experience working with middle school students is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Teaching upper-level electives (such as Data Structures and Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, or Languages) to high school students as well as foundational programming courses to middle school students.
- Ensure lesson plans are engaging and active, which supports a positive classroom management program.
- Additional responsibilities include mentoring independent projects and teaching mini-courses related to computer science or the successful candidate’s interests.
- Foster creativity and problem-solving skills through hands-on projects and activities.
- Encourage collaboration and teamwork among students on programming projects.
